Critical Incident Negotiation Team (C.I.N.T.)

The Critical Incident Negotiation Team was formed to assist with hostage situations and other incidents involving a threat to human life. The team is responsible for responding to these types of calls and contacting suspects involved. The team works closely with the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) to produce a peaceful and safe conclusion to the incidents.

CINT members attend extensive specialized training on high-risk incidents and negotiations. Members have attended classes instructed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and have a network of contacts that they can use, if needed, to help bring the incident to a successful end.
