Communications and Records Division
The Augusta Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Communications and Records Division is comprised of dispatch and the clerk/typist positions of the Department of Public Safety. The communications division is responsible for 9-1-1 services, non-emergency phone lines, assisting citizens and dispatching of police and fire units. The ADPS communications center is one of three public safety answering points (PSAP's) in Butler County and ADPS serves as a backup to Butler County Communications and the Andover Police Department communications division.
In addition to dispatch, the Communications and Records Division hosts the agencies court clerk and records clerk. The court clerk handles all citations and cases scheduled for municipal court. The records clerk acts as a typist for dictated reports and fields requests for copies of reports and documentation.
