The Augusta Department of Public Safety (ADPS) and Butler County Fire District Number Two are equipped with some of the best fire apparatus and equipment in the region. The department has evolved over recent years from used fire trucks and forestry vehicles to new, top of the line apparatus. The Fire Division also has planning and budgeting in place to allow for regular replacement and rotation of fire apparatus.
The City of Augusta owns two engines, one 55-foot aerial, and one command vehicle. Butler County Fire District Number Two owns one engine, two tanker trucks, four grass fire trucks, one multi-purpose pickup, one rescue truck, and one rescue boat. In addition, the City and the County share ownership of a command bus.
