Can I get my fingerprints taken?
Fingerprints can be done Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 8AM-12PM and 1PM-5PM. Walk-in's only. If you live within the city limits of Augusta or the USD 402 school district the cost is $10.00. If you live outside the city limits and the USD 402 school district, the cost is $50.00.
Where can I purchase a fishing license?
You can purchase a fishing licese at our communications window. For more information, see our communications section.
Do you accept utility payments?
We will accept utility payments after 5:00 p.m., but they will not reach the utility office until the next business day. You can also take your utility payment to City Hall and place it in the drop box or pay online.
What do I need to do to receive a burn permit?
You can call the communication section at (316) 775-4500 ext. 0 to receive a burn permit. You can also go to our communications section for more information.
Where can I purchase a boat permit?
You can purchase boat permits at our communications window 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
Can you unlock cars?
Due to liability issues, we are unable to unlock cars; however, if it is an emergency and there is a life in danger, please call 9-1-1 to have police and fire respond.
You may have to contact a locksmith or towing service to have the vehicle unlocked at your own expense.
Where can I register a bicycle?
You can register your bicycle at the Augusta Department of Public Safety. Bring your bicycle in and a public safety officer will fill out the information needed. You will receive an identifying sticker to place on your bicycle. Bicycle registration is $1.00
Where do you take my animal if it is found at large?
Your animal will be taken to the Augusta Animal Clinic at 704 E. Belmont, phone number (316)775-7061. You can retrieve your animal during their normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. They are closed on Sunday.
