The Augusta Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Fire Division is responsible for conducting fire safety inspections throughout the City of Augusta and Butler County Fire District Number two. These inspections include commercial, home safety, day care provider, school and other related inspections.
On duty fire personnel complete the inspections and note areas that need attention or could be of concern. In addition, when conducting these inspections on commercial and school premises, we create reports called "pre fire plans." These pre-plans, as they are referred to, give an overall layout of the building as well as providing size, entrances / exits, fire hydrant locations close to the building, and other pertinent information. This report is stored and in the event of a fire or other emergency, it can be reviewed to provide vital information to on scene commanders and personnel to ensure that the emergency response is as efficient and effective as possible.
