Special Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.)

The Special Emergency Response Team, or "SERT," is a highly trained, specialized unit of the department. SERT is responsible for incidents such as high-risk warrants, barricaded suspects, and other situations that threaten public safety and welfare.

SERT members may be called out at any time of the day or night to assist with a situation. The team trains together in many specialized areas to ensure that they can handle any situation that may arise. The SERT members also work closely with the Critical Incident Negotiation Team (CINT).

SERT members are comprised of commissioned officers from various ranks and divisions within the agency. SERT members have been selected by the executive staff of the department to serve in this capacity.
